What’s one of the first things an architecture student needs to get to grips with?
As an architect you are never going to be able to replicate your ideas at a 1:1 – real size. There just isn’t enough space in your studio to create buildings, parks or urban designs to actual size!
So, the first three lessons you learn in your first year are; how to take accurate measurements of spaces, how to draw to scale and how to model in 3D to scale.
The ‘My Metropolis’ project was all about making scale models with support from workshop technicians and learning about the different materials you can use to communicate your ideas through models.
